Project name:

Water Valley Innovation – Knowledge and Innovation Lab

Purpose:

The aim of the project “VIRS – Water, Innovation, Recruitment, and SMEs across Denmark” is to increase the number of innovative SMEs in the water sector through enhanced research collaboration with universities and the hiring of business candidates who contribute to targeted research collaboration.

The project draws on the experiences of the “VIS – Water, Innovation, SMEs” project, which DTU successfully implemented from 2015 to 2021, involving 40 innovation processes with SMEs primarily in the Capital Region. In this new initiative, we aim to expand this collaborative approach nationwide (with respect to the business ecosystem and, if possible, universities/educational institutions).

Main activities:

  • Uncovering SMEs’ needs regarding knowledge and recruitment (through dialogue with the person responsible for innovation and researchers).
  • Establishment and execution of innovation processes, where a researcher is seconded to assist SMEs in developing and testing concepts for new solutions, and students will be involved in the process.
