The European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) has selected Allwaters as the consortium that will lead EIT Water, the new Knowledge and Innovation Community (KIC) dedicated to addressing critical challenges across the water, marine and maritime sectors and ecosystems. EIT Water will accelerate solutions that respond to growing environmental, economic and social pressures on Europe’s water systems.

The EIT Water programs will start January 2027.

2026 is the startup grant agreement year (SUGA year) for EIT Water. During this year focus is on building a strong, credible and operational organisation that can deliver impact over the long term. Focus is on strategic and organisational set-up, governance, and building the core team.

The EIT Water interim management team is established at Partner Huset at Aarhus University and is planned to relocate to the upcoming House of Water by the harbour side in Aarhus by 2030.
